Save the Pug Dog Breed – Adopt the Old Ones
There are dogs living in animal shelters for quite a long time. No one seems to care for them except those who feed them. In the animal shelters dogs get a different treatment. For one, no one owns them exactly just somebody who feeds them. Maybe there are times when they take them out to play, but due to their increasing number one cannot blame the personnel there to give all of them special attention and care. Among here is the pug dog breed. So if you are trying to find a pug to adopt, why don’t you first go to an animal shelter if there is one dog might that catch your attention.
By belonging to the small dog breed, maybe a little space in your heart would be enough. The pug dog breed is a very social animal although a bit stubborn. But generally, they are playful, clever, and willing to learn. And since they do not grow big, a small space in your homes would be the haven they are looking for. Their sociable nature makes it easy for them to mingle with other pets but they would still prefer human companionship. I have mentioned in my previous articles that it is advantageous if you adopt a puppy because they are easily trainable, but this time I will make an exception to make way for these poor old pugs in the animal shelter.
Most of the pug dog breed here is abandoned for some reasons only their former owners knew. If no one adopts them in due time they will be put to sleep. Yes that is true and is happening today not just to pugs but also to other breeds. The animal shelter is not their permanent dwelling place, rather it serves as their stop over until for some good fortune when someone adopts them or heaven forbid, they will be put to sleep. Can you imagine a dog undergoing a stage like that? It would be a horrible scenario. Don’t you think? If you are really an animal lover, this is the right time to act and save those old pugs.
Actually, if nobody adopts them and the canines are already crowded in the shelter the personnel have no other option but to reduce their number. The pug dog breed sadly will be reduced if nobody would care to adopt them. If you can only imagine how the pugs feel in there. Everything would be lonelier without a constant human companion from the time it enters the shelter and maybe until it ends its short life there. Don’t you want to help those old pugs? After all they live only for around 12 to 15 years so why not make their last days happy? Their remaining years depend on all canine lovers who would take the responsibilities of raising and caring for them.
Caring for the older pug dog breed is actually a big challenge. You need to be prepared emotionally and physically, but do not fret because this dog would be more than thankful if you would bring it home with you.
