How to introduce dogs(Akitas) to each other (average energy level)

Hi , u have really cute dogs..I’ve a question tho..I got a golden retriever 8 month old and last night me and my friend tried to introduce our dogs but they got into a fight..his dog is a golden retrieve as well 11 month old , how can i avoid what happened last night … i need them to play/be friends.
