Facebook Helps Shelter Dogs?

Facebook Helps Shelter Dogs?

Has anyone seen the new application “Save A Dog” on Facebook? Honestly- its an excellent program and you can help support your local shelter dogs just by logging in daily and clicking.

http://apps.facebook.com/save-a-dog/

Inviting your friends and family to save shelter dogs gets more points in your pocket and more food in the bowls of shelter dogs in your area.

Do you think programs like this make an impact?

Also– please star. Who knows how many animals this may save!

I have been doing this since I signed up for facebook in June and so far 4 of the dogs have been adopted.I sponser the GSD which is a hard placement and am very happy to see them go.I also go on Petfinder and look for the shelters in my area that allow you to post a dog to your Facebook profile and so far that is going really well for me,I think this is a great idea and you can put in your zip code in the save a dog app and locate your area shelters. So yes I do this and think it is a great idea..

Thanks for this. I've just joined Save A Dog on Facebook and I'm virtually fostering Demi.

The Animal Rescue site is another animal charity Facebook app. It has a purple paw graphic which you can click on everyday. Sponsors donate money for each click.

Facebook is huge. I think it will make a difference.
    Thanks for the headsup.

I would be interested to now why the answerer said that shelter dogs were unhealthy??.
I have had wellbred dogs forever..But, two dogs that I rescued each actually saved my life..One from a murderer, and one when I was falling down a cliff.
I consider rescued dogs as my special angels.

Thanks for the link! I fostered Bufford, a St. Bernard who wipes his feet before coming inside! Every little bit helps. I sent this to all my friends.

I don't think it'll make a huge difference, but a difference it will make.

I see no point in saving dogs that will be plagued by health problems later in their life.
