My Buddy Bill

Just a few words about “My Buddy Bill” (who’ll be adopted this coming Thursday 08/27/09 from Second Chance Animal Shelter). For last couple of months I’ve had the great pleasure to get to know Bill (a.k.a. Barnicle Bill). Right off the bat we became very close friends. This guy has a great spirit, and is just a “happy go lucky dog” who appreciated being among the many loving people, volunteers at the shelter. I’m going to miss Bill immensly, I had so much fun walking, playing ball, and just being in his company. I am thrilled he’s found a loving family, and hope they appreciate Bill as much as I have.

Thank you for opening up your home to…

A true friend, a loving companion!

Enjoy your new life Bill…

I Love You,
Your Buddy, John

Adopting a Dog – Pointers on Choosing Your Shelter Dog

Encouragement is all over the place for adopting a dog, especially a rescued dog who needs a second chance. I am the proud owner of a rescued dog, and it warms my heart to see how wonderfully he has filled out, his shiny coat, and most of all, his obedient, loving, loyal personality.

Rescue Dog Behavior

Often a dog may end up in a shelter or pound because he was unwanted by his first family. This can happen because the dog already had some behavior issues. This doesn’t mean he was a “bad” dog. It just means that he had some issues that the family didn’t know how to handle so they turned him into a shelter. When you adopt a dog from a shelter you should try to find out all you can about why the dog Read more

The Founding of a Thailand Dog Rescue – An Interview With Amandine Lecesne, Of Care For Dogs

Founding any animal rescue is not for the faint of heart. Founding a rescue in a foreign country filled with unfamiliar regulations and different cultural perception towards animals is downright intimidating, at least to almost any rational thinking human being. Yet without brave souls willing to take on such a task countless more animals in the world would suffer. Not to mention that serial volunteers, Read more

Merits Of Adopting A Pound Or Rescue Dog – Pound Dogs Need Love, Too!

Adopting a dog from a shelter or rescue group gives the abused or abandoned dog a deserved chance to a happy life.
